James Furlong, P.E., is the Vice President, North America Refrigeration for Johnson Controls. He has thirty years of experience in the Industrial Refrigeration and HVAC industries. Mr. Furlong has been deeply involved in the evaluation of the energy and water consumption characteristics of various types of heat rejection systems applied in commercial, industrial, and power generation applications. He was a principal investigator in a recent report generated for the Electric Power Research Institute by Johnson Controls titled “Feasibility Study for Using a Thermosyphon Cooler Hybrid System to Reduce Cooling Tower Water Consumption”. Mr. Furlong holds a BE degree in Chemical Engineering from Manhattan College (1983) and a MBA from Loyola University in Maryland (1998). He is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Connecticut.
