Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City Investment & Development Co., Ltd
Mr Goh is the Chief Executive Officer of the Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City Investment & Development Co Ltd. As a flagship project between the PRC and Singapore Governments, the Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City is envisioned to create a harmonious and sustainable community that meets the needs of an urbanizing China. Strategically located within the fast-growing Tianjin Binhai New Area and only 40 km away from Tianjin Municipal, the 30 sq km Tianjin Eco-City will be a modern township where 350, 000 residents can live, work and play.
Prior to this, Mr Goh was the Deputy Secretary (Special Projects) for the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI). As DS (Special Projects), he was responsible for overseeing the organisation of the inaugural Formula ONE night race that was held in Singapore in September 2008. He is also on the board of the Economic Development Board.
Before that, Mr Goh was the Deputy Secretary (Industry) of MTI, and was responsible for formulating policies to facilitate the development of Singapore’s industry sectors and enterprises.
Before joining MTI, Mr Goh was the Executive Director of External Department at the Monetary Authority of Singapore, where he co-chaired the Organising Committee for the 2006 IMF-World Bank Group of Governors Annual Meetings when it was held in Singapore.
Mr Goh’s previous postings include the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Community Development, the People’s Association, National Youth Council and the Ministry of Finance.

Frank Bryant is currently Vice President, Strategic Development at InSinkErator, a division of Emerson Electric Co. He is responsible for International marketing and sales to over 100 countries, marketing and sales for the division’s Foodservice business, and acquisitions. One of his key responsibilities has been to open up new international markets where InSinkErator’s products were previously unknown and where the environmental advantages of these products were not understood. Frank Bryant has worked at InSinkErator for 16 years.
Before joining InSinkErator, Frank Bryant worked in marketing for S.C. Johnson & Son (Johnson Wax) in marketing positions in Canada, Mexico and the U.S., most recently responsible for worldwide business development for all consumer product categories as Director of Global Business Development in the U.S. Prior to working with S.C. Johnson & Son, Frank Bryant worked with the Quaker Oats Co. in England in a variety of marketing positions.
Frank Bryant studied in Cambridge University, where he received B.A. and M.A. degrees. He was born in the U.K. and is now a U.S. citizen.

Nicolas Chaudron joined Idinvest Partners (formerly AGF Private Equity, part of Allianz Group) in 2001. Since 2006 he has been focusing on the cleantech sector and he led Idinvest Partners' investments in several companies including Odersun (thin-film solar cells), Akol Energies (solar independent energy producer), and Nenuphar (vertical-axis wind turbine manufacturer). He is a member of the European Advisory Board of the Cleantech Group and the founder of the Club Cleantech AFIC (French Private Equity Association), a platform to foster the entire cleantech ecosystem in France. Prior to that, Nicolas Chaudron worked mainly in the sectors of information technology and semiconductors, and he led Idinvest Partners' investments in Soamai (sold to ASG), Alchimer, Median Technologies, and Telemarket. Between 2001 and 2005, he was also a board member of several start-ups, including Siriatech and Vizelia, two start-ups pioneering cleantech in Europe.
Before joining Idinvest Partners, Nicolas Chaudron started his career in venture capital at Europatweb, the Internet investment company founded by Bernard Arnault. In addition to his involvement in the operational launch of Europatweb, he participated in various investments and led the one in Webhelp (LBO exit in 2007).
Nicolas Chaudron is an alumnus of the Ecole normale supérieure (Paris, France) and of the Peking University (Beijing, China). He holds an MSc in mathematics from the University of Paris IV, an MBA from the Collège des Ingénieurs, and an MBA from the Wharton School (University of Pennsylvania), where he was a Palmer Scholar.

Dr. David S. Chen joined General Motors Corporation in 1984. His assignments during the first 10 years include automotive manufacturing automation. He has been working on GM programs in China since 1994. He has held positions as Managing Director of Delphi Shanghai (then GM Automotive Component Group), Executive Director of New Business Development and Planning, Executive Director of Product Development, and General Manager of Shanghai GM Dongyue JV.
Since 1994, Dr. Chen has played a key role in areas of joint venture negotiations, merge/acquisition projects, product portfolio planning/development, and joint venture management.
He currently is the Vice President of GM China responsible for public policy, government relationship, and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
Dr. Chen has a doctor degree in electrical engineering and computer science from the University of Michigan, master degrees in mathematics and electrical engineering from Purdue University, and a master degree of management from Stanford University. He earned his bachelor degree in mathematics from East China Normal University in Shanghai.

Mark L. Clifford is the Executive Director of the Asia Business Council, a Hong Kong-based organization of senior executives. Council members’ companies directly employ about 2 million people and a have a valuation of over $2 trillion. Council research focuses on subjects affecting the long-term competitiveness of Asia, including, energy, environment, food, corporate governance, health, and innovation policy.
Clifford, who has been at the Council since 2007, was one of the authors of the Council’s book Building Energy Efficiency: Why Green Buildings Are Key to Asia’s Future. The book, which was also published in Chinese, looks at the economic and environmental importance of greater energy efficiency in Asia’s buildings. He wrote ‘South Korea’s Green Revolution’ for the recently published book, Korea 2020: Global Perspectives for the Next Decade.
In Hong Kong, Clifford was Editor-in-Chief of the South China Morning Post and Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of The Standard.
Previously, he was the Hong Kong-based Asia Regional Editor for BusinessWeek, with overall responsibility for the magazine’s bureaus from Bombay to Tokyo. Clifford came to Asia in 1987 as a Seoul, Korea-based correspondent with the Far Eastern Economic Review.
Clifford is the co-author, with former WTO Director-General Supachai Panitchpakdi, of China and the WTO: Changing China, Changing World Trade, which was published at the time of China’s WTO accession in December 2001. Clifford’s other books include Troubled Tiger: Businessmen, Bureaucrats and Generals in South Korea and Meltdown: Asia's Boom, Bust and Beyond (co-authored with Pete Engardio). He contributed chapters to China’s Century and Japan in Asia and received the Overseas Press Club Award for best foreign business reporting.
Clifford is an honors graduate of the University of California, Berkeley and was a Walter Bagehot Fellow at Columbia University in 1986-87. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.

Dr. Greidanus is the author or co-author of 35 scientific papers and three patent applications.
Born and grown up in The Hague, Dr. Greidanus went to Leiden University at the age of 18 to study Physics and got PhD of experimental physics in University of Leiden. His thesis work focused on magnetic properties of materials at ultra-low temperatures. Dr. Greidanus and his wife live in Shanghai. Dr. Greidanus has one daughter.

Melissa began her career at Prudential Securities as an investment banker. She attended Wellesley College and is a graduate of the University of Florida (BS) (MSF) Candidate. Melissa is the guest lecturer at University of Florida and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Melissa is a Hopkins Fellow and participated in the Women's Leadership Program at Harvard University.

Mr. Fong Saik Hay was appointed in Nov 2001 as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of ST Engineering Group and concurrently President, ST Dynamics Pte Ltd from May 2002.
As CTO, his role is to strategise together with the Business Units, the group technology and engineering capabilities and foster integration of multi disciplinary capabilities across the group to address increasingly complex systems.
As President of ST Dynamics, he is to nurture new capabilities, concept and technology until it is useful for the business units. ST Dynamics also scouts for new technologies for ST Engineering for collaborations or investments.
He serves on the Boards of Kinetics Drive Systems, Advanced Materials Engineering Pte Ltd, FusionTech, Nanoscience Innovation and ST Electronics subsidiaries such as - Satcom & Sensor Systems, Info-Software Systems, Info-Comm, Digital Media and Training & Simulation Systems. He also sits in the Management Committee of Temasek Laboratories (NTU and NUS). He is the chairman of Intellisys, a joint center between NTU and ST Engineering.
Prior to his current position, he was SVP (Engineering) in ST Kinetics where he managed and directed the product development, technology acquisition, engineering human resources development and relevant support activities. Besides leading successfully the built-up of indigenous armoured vehicle design capabilities, he led investments into desalination technologies and environmentally friendly technologies such as fuel cells, electric/hybrid drives, energy efficient hydraulics, supercapacitor technology and Stirling Motors.
He also chairs the Advisory Board for FaithActs, a community and youth charity.
He graduated from NUS (Singapore) with first class honours in mechanical engineering in 1981. In 1985, he was conferred with Master of Science in Computer, Information and Control Engineering from University Of Michigan. He attended the 76th Program for Management Development at Harvard University in 2001.

Peter is a champion for developing global practice that demonstrates that the way we invest public and private money in the built environment could be made very much more effective if the public and private sector adopted sustainable development principles. He is a civil and structural engineer who has become a recognised world leader in major bridges (he received an OBE for successfully delivering the Second Severn Crossing as Government Agent), advanced composite technology and now in sustainable development in cities. He has won many awards for his work including the Award of Merit of IABSE, the Royal Academy of Engineering’s Silver Medal and the Prince Philip Award for Polymers in the Service of Mankind.
He joined Arup in 2004 to create and lead their planning and integrated urbanism team which has now doubled in size. He was appointed in 2002 by the Mayor of London as an independent Commissioner on the London Sustainable Development Commission and led the planning and development sub-group of the Commission.
He is a judge for the Prince Philip Designers’ Prize , the Holcim Awards and the Earth Awards.
He is an expert adviser to the Singapore Government on Green Buildings and Infrastructure and he is on the advisory panel for the World Future Council.
In July 2008 he was awarded an honorary doctorate in engineering at Bristol University, where he is a visiting Professor in Systems Engineering.
In 2009 he was awarded the Sir Frank Whittle medal of the Royal Academy of Engineering for a lifetime contribution to the well-being of the Nation through environmental innovation.
He was cited by Time magazine in 2008 as one of 30 global eco-heroes and has been one of CNN’s Principle Voices.

He has the responsibility to build up a world class Siemens research lab in China. Before coming to China in October 2004, Arding Hsu was the President & CEO of Siemens Technology-To-Business Center (TTB) in Berkeley, California. TTB is a dynamic and flexible interdisciplinary B&R&D (Business & Research & Develop) organization that serves as a technology-to-business factory by working closely with universities, start-up companies and individual entrepreneurs. Prior to TTB, Arding Hsu was the department head of Multimedia/Video Technology in Siemens Corporate Research in Princeton, New Jersey. Arding has 25 years industrial R&D experience along with venture investment and business development. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Rutgers University in New Jersey. He has published more than 30 papers and holds many patents.

Richard joined Chrysalix in 2007 and today, is a Director of Chrysalix’s LED-related investments including Bridgelux and Light Based Technologies. He also helps lead the firm’s Asian investment efforts.
Richard is a serial entrepreneur who has worked with Chrysalix team members for the past decade. As an engineer, he started his career with NEI Parsons, a division of Rolls Royce that designed steam turbines and generators for power generation. He worked on “Drax”, the largest coal fired power station in Europe and “Bruce”, the largest nuclear generating station in the world. He continued working for Rolls Royce in Canada, supplying power equipment to the electric utility industry.
For the past sixteen years Richard has been running venture-backed startup companies. Most recently, as President and CEO, he successfully sold LED display technology company, BrightSide Technologies, to Dolby Laboratories for annualized returns of 45-60%. Prior to this he was President and CEO of NxtPhase, where he raised $57 million in venture capital financing. He grew the company from two to 100 people and built relationships with GE, Honeywell, and Mitsubishi as well as Canada’s three largest utilities and three of the larger US utilities.
Richard holds a Metallurgy Degree from Sheffield University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Dr.Zhang Ning, deputy to the 15th People's Congress of Tianjin, was appointed president of TEPCO of SGCC in 2009. In this position, he has overall responsibility for the corporation management. Being the corporate decision maker, Dr.Zhang commits himself to the promoting of the construction of strong smart grid.
Dr.Zhang started his career within SGCC in 1989. He had served in different positions mainly in electric power production and management fields in Shandong Electric Power Corporation. The positions he had held includes Corporation VP, manager of Training Department, GM of Weifang Power Supply Company, deputy GM of Jinan Power Supply Company. He also briefly served for SGCC as VP of Shaanxi Electric Power Corporation and GM of Xi'an Power Supply Company.
Dr.Zhang has 20 years rich experience in power grid planning, construction, operating and management. He has ensured the safe and stable operation of power grid in the assigned provinces and cities. He achieved complete success to ensure the power supply in major events such as the 2008 Olympic Games and China 60th Anniversary. Dr.Zhang also actively promotes the corporation social responsibility for the balanced and sustainable development of power grid and the economy and society.
Dr.Zhang graduated from Shandong University of Technology with a bachelor's degree in electric power system& automation. He received an M.Eng degree in electrical engineering and a Ph.D degree in electric power system& automation from Shandong University.

He is licensed as an attorney in both New York and California. Michael Paik was previously the Senior Vice President of Risk Management at STX Europe, Chief Technology Officer at Seoul National University’s R&DB Foundation and Director of Technology Incubation at SNU's College of Engineering. He was General Counsel & Director of the Global Legal Department at STX Corporation, Hankook Tire Company, and the Inje Foundation/Paik Hospitals, where he continues to serve as a Trustee. He has been Counsel to the Korean Venture Capital Association, the Korean Nurses’ Association and the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority, as well as Samsung Electronics, Samsung Venture Investment Corporation, LG Electronics, LG Venture Investments and several other Korean companies. Michael has taught as a Professor at Yonsei University's College of Law, the Judicial Research & Training Institute, and Seoul National University's College of Engineering, and he graduated from Syracuse University (BA, Economics, 1991), Yale University (MBA, 1995) and Columbia University (JD, 1998).

Currently Capricorn Venture Partners is investing out of its dedicated Capricorn Cleantech Fund. Jos is regarded as one of the pioneers in European venture capital, being active in this area since 1985. He co-founded and became Chairman of Quest for Growth NV, an Investment Company quoted on the Brussels Stock Exchange which is specialising in investing in quoted and later stage unquoted technology based growth companies. Jos was Chairman of the Working Group which founded the European Association of Securities Dealers (EASD) and developed the concept of EASDAQ. In partnership with Börse Berlin the company is relaunching as Equiduct, a regulated market for secondary trading in Europe, Jos continues to serve as a Director of Easdaq NV, the holding company of Equiduct. Jos has a PhD in Physics from the University of Leuven.
