Simon, Rafael

Dr. Rafael Simon is a Venture Partner at VantagePoint, one the world’s leading cleantech VC firms and a Director of several cleantech start-ups that he has co-founded including Alpha Membrane Technologies GmbH, the world’s largest supplier of membrane manufacturing technology. Previously, he served as COO of ZENON Environmental, one of the world’s leading suppliers of membrane-based water and wastewater filtration technology from 2001 until its acquisition by GE in 2006. Prior to joining ZENON, he worked as a Consultant at McKinsey & Co. where he specialized in developing corporate growth strategies. Dr. Simon received a Ph.D. in Materials Science & Mineral Engineering from UC Berkeley in 1996. In 2004, Dr. Simon was selected as Canada’s top COO by Canadian Business Magazine.
